Meet Minja Maric, Project Manager of IMPULSE

30 Jan 2022

Minja Maric joined ELI ERIC in June 2021 as the Project Manager for IMPULSE. She holds a Master’s degree in Communication in Enterprises and Organisations from the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia and has been working as a Project Manager, specialising in EU funding for the past 11 years. As such, she has worked with government institutions and research organisations in different countries, on preparing funding applications and implementing and managing EU funded (Horizon 2020) projects. Minja had also worked as a Project Officer for an INTERREG Cross-border Cooperation Programme, funding cooperation between EU and neighbouring non-EU (Instrument for Pre-Assession Assistance (IPA)) countries, where she was involved in developing and implementing the application and assessment process of calls for proposals, while also assessing, monitoring and evaluating projects funded by the Programme.

As the IMPULSE Project Manager, Minja supports the overall coordination and management of the project activities to ensure that the IMPULSE project is delivered on time and to budget. Her daily work includes close cooperation with the Consortium partners and communication with the European Commission. She monitors the progress of individual Work Packages and the related tasks to be completed in addition to the use of resources by the project partners. In the process, she continuously updates the administrative and management procedures of the Project, including risk monitoring and performance management. It is fundamental to the project to have an excellent work plan for activities and follow the schedule laid out.

“IMPULSE is an ambitious project and making it successful requires that everyone is on track and committed throughout the project duration and after,” says Minja. “The planning work I do is fundamental to achieving this and together we will have lasting impact, not just on the ELI facilities, but also on the European high-power laser landscape, science and innovation as a whole. That notion is my favourite aspect of the project!”
