FORTH is one of the largest Greek research centers with well-organized facilities & highly qualified personnel. It comprises 8 Institutes conducting high-added value research, focusing on interdisciplinary R&D in areas of major scientific, societal & economic interest, such as: Lasers & Photonics, Microelectronics, Advanced Materials/Nanotechnology, Molecular Biology & Genetics, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Precision Medicine, Systems Biology, Robotics, Telecommunications, Applied & Computational Mathematics, Chemical Engineering, Energy, Environment, Human & Social Sciences, Astrophysics. Its Institute of Electronic Structure & Lasers is member of 5 European Facilities including LaserLab Europe, coordinator of the National RI HELLAS-CH and contributes to ELI since 2015.
